I am covered in mosquito bites :(

All night long I hear them buzzing around me head and feel them landing on my extremities. In addition to the bites all over my arms and legs, it appears they are really enjoying my face. Two days ago I woke up with a swollen lip, yesterday it was a swollen eye, and today it's both eyes.

I've been spending the week shadowing the teacher's whose classes I'm taking and the kids are adorable. They call me Megan Teacher, because, in Korea, the first name is followed by a word of respect, which in our cases is teacher. Tomorrow we're pumpkin carving and on Friday we're getting dressed up for Halloween. I'll take pictures of my students and post them then.

Well, I'm afraid to write more because I'm feeling a little discouraged about the mosquito situation. I've already killed 9 (with blood spots on the wall to prove it) but I have no idea what to do. Nobody at work is getting bit as bad as me. Apparently, the mosquitoes should be gone by December. I'm just tired of going to work looking like Quasimodo...

Hi Megs (aka "Megan Teacher"- I'm gald to hear that you're doing well with your class but am sorry to hear about the mosquito issue. Can you find/buy anything like "OFF" or some spray to kee them away?

How many kids will you have in your class? And how good is their English speaking skills?

Have had a boring normal week here so far this week with work, work and then some more work. We have learned a lot of Ramses the Great (Pharaoh of Egypt during the Biblical Exodus Story) and we're planning to go to Paso Robles this weekend to do some wine tasting with David and Fran.

Take care of yourself!

Love,
Dad

Hi Megan Teacher,
Your kids look like they have lots of personality (aka energy), they must be a riot to work with! Sorry to hear you got attacked by mosquitos, but hey, what's a move to a new place without some funny stories? So you have not officially been in Korea for one whole week, does it feel like home yet? The weather is crazy warm and sunny here, if I hadn't looked at the calendar, I would have thought it was July or something. Boris is doing good, he's currently out and about outside. Probably trying to stalk a squirrel or two, not that its as easy anymore with the little bell on his collar. Oh, I've been meaning to tell you, I did early voting last week, voted for Obama baby! Um, you have stuff coming here from Wachovia, want me to open it or put it in the box going to you? How's the afghan coming along? How do you like the other teachers? Love you and miss ya lots

Kelli

Boris has a bell! Ahhh...

Dad-there's 12 kids in my kindergarten class, 2 in my Elementary A (neither of whom speak any English) and 5 in my Elementary B. 10-230 is Kidnergarten (with 4 10 min. breaks and an hour for lunch..very nice for me) And 3-430 is Elementary.

So Kelli's gone out and rocked the vote for Obama, what about you Dad?
Did you see Colin Powell's endorsement of Obama? Not only is his vote a big deal but I thought he made several interesting points about our country in his statement.
